Tire Change Cost Calculator

Estimate what it costs to fit tires — the labor and consumables added to the tire price — so you can compare quotes and budget the full job rather than the tires alone.

Estimate tire service cost

Get a planning range for common tire services. Prices vary widely by shop, tire type and market — treat this as illustrative only.

Not applied to whole-vehicle services such as rotation.

Assumption basis: typical U.S. labor rates as of 2025, adjusted for vehicle size and market. Tire prices themselves, disposal fees, taxes and additional parts (valve stems, TPMS sensors) are not included. Confirm pricing with local shops.

How to use this tool

Enter how many tires are being fitted and choose whether you are buying new tires or refitting existing ones. The tool estimates the common service line items you will see on a quote.

  1. Enter the number of tires involved, usually two or four.
  2. Select the service — mounting new tires, or removing and refitting existing ones.
  3. Add optional items such as valve stems, TPMS service or old-tire disposal where your shop charges for them.
Example

Fitting four new tires typically adds per-tire mounting and balancing, four valve stems, a TPMS reset and a disposal fee per old tire — costs that are easy to overlook when comparing tire prices alone.

What the results mean

Tire service costs are made up of labor and consumables: mounting the tire on the rim, balancing the wheel, new valve stems, a TPMS service or sensor when equipped, and a fee to dispose of the old tires. Shops may bundle these or list them separately, which is why two quotes for the same tires can differ.

How it is calculated

The estimate multiplies your chosen price ranges by the number of tires, then adds the optional line items you selected. Ranges reflect typical US service pricing and are shown as a low-to-high band rather than a single figure.

Important limitations

Actual prices depend on your location, the shop, your vehicle and whether TPMS sensors need replacing. This tool gives a rough planning range only and is not a quote. Always confirm the full itemized cost with the shop before authorizing work.
