Affiliate Disclosure
We want you to know how this site is funded. Where we use affiliate links or display advertising, we disclose it plainly, and we keep commercial relationships well away from editorial decisions. This page explains how that works, and applies only where such links are actually in use.
Plain-language disclosure
Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, we may earn a commission. This comes at no extra cost to you, and it helps support the site. We only use affiliate links where they are relevant to the page, and the presence or absence of a commercial relationship does not change what we recommend.
How affiliate links work
An affiliate link is an ordinary link that carries a code identifying us to the retailer. If you make a purchase after following it, the retailer pays us a small commission. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly. Commission arrangements do not give us access to your personal information, and our handling of any information we do collect is described in our privacy policy.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. We do not accept payment to give a positive review, to rank a product more highly, or to hide a product’s drawbacks. Where we mention equipment, we describe what it does and its limitations rather than inventing test results or scores we have not earned. If a page contains an affiliate link, that link is labelled or the page carries a disclosure, and you can read our editorial policy for how content is produced and reviewed.
Sponsored content labels
Where content is sponsored, we label it as sponsored content, clearly and near the top, so it cannot be mistaken for independent editorial. Sponsored content is still written to be accurate and is still subject to our standards, but we are transparent that it was paid for. We do not present sponsored material as independent.
Contact
If you have a question about this disclosure, a partnership enquiry, or a correction related to a commercial link, please use the contact page. For corrections to editorial content itself, our corrections policy explains how to report them.
